Utilisation of High Energy Propellant Waste in Manufacturing of Fired Clay Bricks to Enhance the Acoustic Properties

The disposal and waste management of solid high energy propellant (HEP) is a considerate conservational problem. HEP currently disposed in open or confined burning which may cause environmental hazards. In this paper, we examined discussed results on recycling into fired clay bricks baked different orientation. modified with 1.5%, 3% 5 wt. % content were manufactured tested, then compared against virgin without content. effect directional orientation varying acoustic properties experimented discussed. sound transmission loss decreases increase due to formation independently closed pores. horizontally during firing nearly 5dB lower than vertically bricks. Results the experimental studies indicate that can be utilised baking further enhances properties.
